2020 Village Board Meeting
Trustees Said They Didn't Want Another Large Building
At 3:34 of the meeting, Trustee Dodd and Trustee Plunket (now Village President) have an exchange regarding their opinion of ANOTHER large building on Green Bay Road. They were not comfortable with another large structure.
2024 Planning Commission Meeting
Planning Commission Discussed the project for less then 18 minutes
Planning Commission NEVER even said the words STANDARDS OF REVIEW!
Planning Commission completely ignores the intent and spirit of the Comprehensive Plan and the Zoning Code
At 17:39 remaining of the meeting, Chairman Bradford states that the Village Center Master Plan has a 'shelf life', that they were all involved with the new Comprehensive Plan revision.
However, the 2011 Village Center Master Plan has been ADOPTED and VALIDATED by the new 2024 Comprehensive Plan!!!!!!

2011 Village Center Master Plan States:
"The fundamentals of this Master Plan are based on balancing preservation of the existing community character with appropriate new development that supports an active, sustainable Village Center."
We Oppose Another Out of Character Building
This proposal is contrary to every Wilmette Comprehensive Plan and study since 1922.
We support development that
preserves the character of Wilmette.
